About our Practice
Established over 20 years ago by Dr. Marjorie Grey, Vienna Road Family Practice has enjoyed a long history of excellent care and satisfied patients.
Today our practice is owned by Dr. Jocelyn Keogh.
Our practice is unique as it has a Manager to ensure the satisfaction of both patients and staff, leaving time for the doctors to do what they do best. We are progressive in our billing and payment systems to ensure that our doctors and staff benefit from the excellent service they give.
Whilst we do not have a practice nurse at the moment, it is our intention to hire a nurse in the near future.

Fees: This practice is a private billing practice. We believe that private billing is necessary to adequately remunerate the practice and enable it to maintain high quality medical care. You can expect to pay $53.00 for up to 15 minutes with your doctor.
Full Fee Schedule. Consultations that take longer than 15 minutes will be charged an additional $3.50 per minute.
Discounts are available for Health Care Cardholders, Pensioners and children to the end of their high school years. We will only bulk-bill Veteran Affairs patients and children under 6 yrs of age for their routine vaccinations.
Payment is required at the time of consultation. The practice accepts cash, cheques, credit cards and EFTPOS. If at anytime financial circumstances create temporary difficulties paying our fees, please feel free to discuss this matter with either your Doctor or any of our reception staff.
Making appointments: We run an appointment system. Patients with appointments will have preference except in emergencies. You can make an appointment with any of our doctors by telephoning the surgery. Please let our receptionist know if you require prompt attention for matters such as chest pain, burns, eye injury etc.
Appointments are normally made at 15-minute intervals, so you can usually expect to spend 10-15 minutes with your doctor. This may change if there have been emergencies or if the surgery is very busy. Dr. Keogh has standard 20-minute appointments.
We have made running to time a high priority, but emergencies do happen, straightforward matters do have a habit of turning into longer consultations. Please phone the surgery before your appointment to check whether your doctor is running on time. If you feel you require a longer consultation please discuss this with the receptionist prior to making an appointment.
If your usual doctor is not available you may wish to see one of the other doctors at the practice - this will be perfectly acceptable to the doctor you usually see.
Telephoning your Doctor: Your Doctor will take phone enquiries relating to you or your family. If your doctor is seeing patients when you call you may need to ring back. Our receptionist will let you know the most appropriate time to do this.
Repeat Prescriptions / Pathology Results: Generally no repeat prescriptions will be given without making an appointment to see your doctor. Some prescriptions may be given without seeing your doctor; a fee is charged for this service.
Please phone for your pathology results. Your doctor will review them and advise our receptionist if he/she needs to see you to discuss your results.
After Hours Service: You can access our after hours service by dialling (07) 3830 5659. If a call-out is needed this will be done by a local GP (which may not always be your doctor, but will always be an experienced local GP). After hours call out fees range from $120 for a standard consultation depending on the doctor and the circumstances. You can claim some of this fee back from Medicare. Only Veteran Affairs Cardholders are bulk-billed for this service.
Out of Surgery (Home) Visits: If you live in the local area and are too sick to come to the surgery during surgery hours, house calls will be made where necessary. Please remember that some problems are better managed at the surgery. Requests for house calls are best made before 9am. Visits can also be arranged for patients at nursing homes and hostels.
Please note that home visits are not bulk-billed.
